MICHAEL SENIOR
Assistant Headteacher and Author
Michael currently manages a Sixth Form of over 400 students. His centre was recently assessed to be in the top five percent
of Sixth Forms, according to value added data, and now almost sixty percent of his students achieve grades A or B at AS/A2. A former Chief Examiner in his subject area, Michael is better known for having produced a range of highly successful
publications for post-16 students including Writing an effective Personal Statement, Developing the Skilled Sixth Former and Applying to Higher Education (written with Brian Heap). His current project deals with raising standards across all subject areas at post 16 level.

PATRICK MCNEILL

Education Training and Publishing Consultant
As a freelance consultant and former Commissioning Editor, Pat works across the full range of 14-19 curriculum and qualifications, including GCSE, AS/A level, vocational qualifications, apprenticeships, key skills and Skills for Life.
Pat has worked on many projects for QCA, the DfES Standards Unit, LSDA, ACCAC, and all the major awarding bodies, as well for companies in the private sector including Coca Cola Enterprises Ltd, Unilever and with many educational
publishers.

MATTHEW WELBOURN
Professional Development Officer, UCAS
Matthew joined UCAS at the beginning of 2005 having spent several years in the Royal Navy as an Intelligence Analyst. As a Professional Development Officer, Matthew has extensive experience of providing training and consultancy on key issues
that impact on progression to higher education, to delegates including admissions and recruitment staff working in higher education institutions, teachers and careers counsellors advising applicants through the admissions process.

JUDITH JAKES
Project Developer, Haringey City Learning Centre
Judith has been a teacher for over 30 years and was a former ICT coordinator and Head of Sixth. Her current role from 2001 is to extend and develop the innovative use of ICT across all the key stages in order to raise attainment and to coordinate a new Masters Level course, the ‘Transformation Teachers Programme’. Judith has particular expertise in digital media, virtual learning environments and Web 2 presences.
